Women's varsity volleyball won four games and lost six at the Austin College spring tournament in Sherman, Texas. The team competed against Austin College, UT Dallas, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Brookhaven College and Northlake College.
Volleyball coach Jill Reynolds said the team performed well at the tournament. Freshman Heather Hardy and junior communication major MaryAnn Shaw dominated at the net. Hardy had a total of 38 kills, and Shaw had 28.
Freshman Courtney Higgs led the defense with 29 digs for the tournament. Freshman Heather Bowden had nine aces, and Shaw had eight.
Freshman Laura Welch led the team as setter with a total of 90 assists.
"I expect the team to continue to learn and build as a cohesive unit," Reynolds said.
