Women's Soccer
The women's soccer team closed its season in fourth place after a loss to Tomball College.
"We had a very successful season and expect to play as a Division Two team next semester as Linda Arredondo and Suzy Garcia lead the Lady Celts in their roles as president and vice president, respectively," senior music major Yvonne Velasquez, team captain, said.
Student coaches junior finance major Andrew Wilson and junior biology and history major Homer Quintana trained goalies Katie Rosales, a sophomore psychology and business major, and Linda Arredondo, a junior communication and English major.
After leading the team the past couple years, I sadly say goodbye to the wonderful friends I have made and wish them the best of luck as they continue to improve," Velasquez said.
Women's Volleyball
The women's varsity volleyball team competed in a tournament at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor on April 14.
The team won four games and lost four games against the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, Schreiner University, North Lake and Cedar Valley colleges. The competition was the last of this school year. The first game of the 2007 - 2008 school year, against the University of Texas at Brownsville, is scheduled for Sept. 21 in the Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center.
