To the UST community:
As the incoming Cauldron editor, I'd like to take this time to address the students, faculty and staff of the University of St. Thomas and welcome you all to another year.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to provide you all with a quality newspaper intended to serve the community and provide news and entertainment to the student body.
It is one of our goals this year to get more people involved in our publication. The Cauldron offers the opportunity to receive hands-on training in writing, photography, graphic design, sales and other production aspects of a newspaper. We also have staff positions open that we are looking to fill as soon as possible.
Additionally, it is my hope that students will utilize the Cauldron's opinions section as the open forum it is intended to be. Letters to the editor are not only welcomed but encouraged. If you have something to say, let your voice be heard on our pages.
Additionally, students involved in clubs and organizations on campus are encouraged to be in touch with us about events and news involving their respective groups. The Cauldron intends to cover student events as diligently as it does the news stories on campus.
There are many ways to get involved with the Cauldron, from dropping in during our regular meetings or production weekends to writing a review, story or even column and submitting it to us. I will personally make every possible attempt to run contributions from the University community.
If I can address any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or e-mail.
Sincerely,
Amber Chemam
2007-2008 Cauldron Editor
