Q: What's the story behind SBG?
Crew Ginn: All of us came together from different music backgrounds, but SBG's sound as a whole can best be described as alternative rock. A lot of people compare our overall sound to the band Alice In Chains, but, like most musicians, we hate to be compared to others. It is important for me to mention that we rely on our very supportive families. My parents have been one of our greatest support systems and I am grateful to them for everything.
Q: What is SBG's focus and ultimate goals?
CG: We have passed the point of being concerned about proving we can play our instruments well or trying to show off our individual talent. We just want to focus on the music and get to a point where we are able to support ourselves with this as a career. Simply put, we want music to be our lives.
Q: What are some of SBG's biggest moments?
CG: The first thing that comes to mind is the rush of performing for over 11,000 people when we opened for Blue October a few months ago. We got to hang out with Seether recently and when we had our CD release party for "Inner Turmoil," we broke capacity at Sidecar Pub.
Q: What was making the "Inner Turmoil" album like?
CG: It took us a year to finish and it was a very involved process. All of us are definitely perfectionists when it comes to our music and especially, when we go into the studio to lay down tracks. All the time and effort was worth it though because our fans seem to really enjoy the album.
Q: What's next for SBG?
CG: We have started writing and working on our next album. We have advanced to the Houston Finals for the "Bodog Battle of the Bands" contest and our last show will be this show at the Engine Room on December 8, 2007. We would love to have as many people out to this show as possible and we expect to advance to the Texas finals show at House of Blues in Dallas, TX.
